A Brand New Website about another of my Passions

Hello everyone ,

As some of you may know I have another passion ... local history.
After over 25 years of work I have finally published a website devoted to this deserted old goldmining town of Whroo, Victoria.
Whroo Victoria

The site is comprehensive and there are lots of pics.
Set in the middle of an Ironbark Forest 7 Kms south of Rushworth in Central Victoria ,  this old town holds so much information hidden in the gullies and overgrown bush.

If you have ever been to Whroo Im sure you will have felt its magic , the remains of housesites and, of course, the quiet tranquil cemetery where over 420 people are buried, so many of them children as shown by the picture below.

The small fence has been sawn off and the marker stones moved around a little.
It has given me great satisfaction to be able to discover who is in the cemetery, although as the original plan disappeared years ago, only a third of the graves can be identified.

The tracing of the family histories has been slow but rewarding too .... sometimes I feel I know these people better than the ones around me!!

Enjoy the peace the site inspires.
Regards
Nicola
